We are leaving soon!

Right now we are busy packing and cleaning! I can't believe that in a few hours we will be on our way to China!!!! How amazing is that!

Incase you didn't notice, I posted links to Rachael and Ryan's blogs on the right side of the blog. There is also a clock that has the time in China. They are 13 hours ahead of us. If you want to see the weather in Beijing, Nanjing, and Guangzhou there are widgets as well.

Wish us luck! China here we come!!!!

7 Days!!!!

As I was walking around the house this morning picking up it occurred to me that in less than 7 days I will be on an airplane headed to China! Wow!!! I feel such an array of emotions right now. I am so excited that in less than two weeks my family will be complete. Our little girl will be with us. There is a mixture of sadness and guilt when I see my clients. I know that many of the kind things people are telling me and expressing how much they will miss me is meant to make me feel good. It does, but it also is a double edged sword. I feel bad that they feel bad or scared about finding someone new. I am nervous about the impending travel. I have never traveled overseas. This will be new experience for me. I feel a bit overwhelmed too. These twelve hour days that I have been working and are facing are physically difficult for me. By the end of the day I am so tired. I will be glad when Monday arrives. Then the next marathon will start-finishing packing and cleaning!

Another Adoption Poem

We witness a miracle every time a child enters into life. But those who make their journey home across time & miles, growing within the hearts of those who wait to love them, are carried on the wings of destiny and placed among us by God's very own hands.

I Love This Poem!

How Could You Know?
As you lay sleeping far away as still as you could be...

How could you know the joy today this photo brings to me?
A few short weeks and you'll be mine, and "I" will soon be "We".
How could you know the love I feel?
It's something you can't see.
So have sweet dreams, my precious babe.
Sleep well and tenderly.
Some say that you're the lucky one.
How could you know it's me?

Complete 180

It wasn't too long ago that Jacob did NOT want to go to China and he did NOT want to be a big brother. Today he told me he wants to go TODAY he doesn't want to wait two weeks. He also wants us to sell our house to "some other people" and have builders make us a new house in China. He thinks we need to go to the store to get Chloe a "ladybug toy" and he will try to feed her baby food but she won't want it. She will want HIS food and he will share it with her. I'm not too sure what is causing this complete change in his feelings about the trip and becoming a big brother, but hopefully we have had a breakthrough!

The Latest

Yeah! Our TA arrived last Thursday. It was such a relief when we got the email. The week got even better when we got our CA on Friday. Looks like May 15th is our appointment at the US Consulate in Guangzhou. We have been spending the weekend searching for airfare. We can get a great price on Northwest Airlines if we want to make two stops. So, now we are trying to decide how much it is worth to us to either have no stops or just one stop. It is a tough decision since that money tree is looking a bit bare!

As it stands, it looks like we will be leaving on April 30th and arrive in Beijing on May 1st. We have to meet our group on May 2nd. Since we are bringing the entire family, we thought that it would be safer to arrive a day ahead of schedule. It gives us a bit more wiggle room in case there is a problem with flights and also gives us more time to adjust to the time change! Our agency offers an optional tour that includes the Beijing Zoo to see the pandas, a visit to the Summer Palace, and a trip to the Pearl Market. (Maybe that isn't such a good one! I have a feeling I am going to really fuel China's economy there!)
